SF Counselling, 20 James Street, Kimberley, Talking Therapy

Many people reach moments in life where they feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps. Even the strongest among us can experience periods of ambivalence, unhappiness, or emotional fatigue. You don’t have to navigate those moments alone.

As a qualified Counselling Professional, I offer a supportive, empathic, and non‑judgemental space where you can explore what you’re going through and begin to make sense of the challenges you’re facing. My aim is to help you understand and manage what life throws at you, at a pace that feels safe and comfortable.

Whether you’re at a crossroads in your career, relationships, or emotional life, therapy can provide the clarity and grounding you need to move forward with greater confidence and self‑understanding.

About Me

ABOUT ME

Counsellor, Susan Faulkner, MBACP, Therapist, Trauma Informed, Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Relationship Issues, Abuse

I am a qualified Counselling Professional based in Nottingham and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within the Person‑Centred modality, a talking therapy approach that supports you in making thoughtful, autonomous decisions about your life.

My priority is to offer an empathic, non‑judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and values at your own pace. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of their next steps. Together, we gently make sense of what you’re experiencing so you can deepen your understanding of yourself and reconnect with what matters to you.

The heart of my work is to facilitate self‑growth. As you gain clarity and confidence, you become better equipped to navigate challenges, heal from setbacks, and move toward the goals and life you want for yourself.

Counselling Service

What to expect.....

Following an initial enquiry, we will arrange an assessment session for you at my Counselling space in Nottingham, where we will discuss your counselling needs.  During this session we will work together to cover any questions you may have, and ascertain your short and long term goals.  This is also a time for you to decide whether therapy is for you, and as such, you are under no obligation to continue.  If you feel that you would like to proceed, we will arrange a mutually convenient regular appointment, usually 50 minutes per week.

The aim of Person Centred Therapy, is not to offer advice, but to facilitate you gaining a better understanding of your unique perception of personal difficulties and the world around you.  Our time together will be very much led by you, working at your own pace, to ensure that you feel safe and are able to manage what you bring to each session.

The work will be on a one to one basis, with confidentiality and the building of a trusting relationship being at the forefront.  The aim is to promote your autonomy, self esteem and confidence and support you in taking positive steps towards better understanding of your world and enjoying a brighter future.
